Power to produce heat on water heater are vary, but the most common use are : gas, electric, and solar cell. Each have their own benefit, so there are no best for all kind of purpose.
Gas Water Heater
Gas water heater is the most used. It efficient and low cost. Gas water heater is best for medium to large home which need more warm water to serve imediately. It also the most choosen type on sub tropic area such as US, UK, etc.
Electric Water Heater
It's more compact but need higher energy cost to operate, so it only suit for small usage. If it only used for shower or other temporary task, it will be great choice because it operate instantly quick and turn off quick also.
Solar Cell Water Heater
This is the most economical way to produce warm water, but it only suit for tropical country where sun mostly shine all day. So this kind of water heater is not reliable for most countries which need water heater badly :).. you know what i mean.
